My new plans for a day on the mountains will be to run from Laragh to Dublin Bay for a recovery swim by doing the run along the Wicklow Way and down from 3-rock Mountain in Dublin to the seaside but with out any car support & just using what the mountains & nature has for me i.e. water / foods, well I've have my own vest / bag with water & some baba foods as I don't eat much while running.. after my test last weekend running 51k I was feeling great full of GO and felled great after it was all day on the go & still feeling good, so my goal is now to be able to run 50k or more with out support... lets see can it be done. who knows what can happen on the day!...
wish me luck.. peace www.facebook.com/mudsweatandrunners

What a Great 14:99k recovery run after my 51k only 2 days ago, up the Spinc in the mad rain and fog..
o so nice... Always nice to meet great people on the hills and help out when I can. someone fall on the sleepers and juju ran to pick him up his all good so no need for Mountain Rescue this time!.. I put my body to a test on my 51k and I think it worked. I gave up eating many things this year and last, but after reading up many things about Wheat, Gluten, Soya and Sugar been one of the hardest things to give as its in everything, I found my body weight looking much better and feeling so fit lost fitter then I've been before. so running the 51k I also wanted to see how much energy I had with out reading many foods at all and just drink water and coconut water and my test worked, only intake of foods I used all that day was baba food by 2 and Salt Chips but not to many, I took bars with me just to on the safe side but never used them. Only Sugar I take now is whats in beer or wine and don't do much of that at all well after a 8hours run I will l!!!!!! Also the recovery for myself was ace. even tho I got very pissed with ye all and didn't get to bed till after 1am I need feel today that my new Diet works great for my energy... its not something that will work for you all but am just sharing what might work for some of you.... Keep training and have fun.. peace Week before any BIG run I like to rest from running! but that don't mean I REST REST!!! lots of Yoga, Cycling , work at my outdoor gym & swimming everyday...
