The 3rd M.S.R beginners Introduction to Trail running on Saturday the 3rd of May went great. everyone seem well happy with the route I made up with single wood trails and fire roads for more open group talking. the run was just under 5k with few stops to regroup as some runners were little faster then others, all went great,
Then I went off for my little 13k after there run, I always go of after a beginners group run just to get out of longer, and people from the group came along with me. maybe the up hills was to much from them but they hiked up. and all was happy.
Ended off with nice little river dip in the cold wicklow rivers ya some some under 20k a river dip is no good. well I think every run is good to have a river or sea dip for that great feeling after wards..
then over the rest of the weekend I didn't do much as I wanted to rest up for a fast pace run I had planned on Tuesday which went just as planed and was very well happy. I had route planned with many up and down steep hills and go as fast as I could up and down them, no I love running in the rain and was told it would be raining all day which I was well happy with fast running! so got up nice and early to sat art my full day of training to see that the sun was very warm and blue sky everywhere!!! great!!! ah well we as runners have to train in all kinds so on with the day. rolled out of bed, running gear on, hot water drink and off I went. took it slow for 1st km then soon as met the Water Fall steps in Glendalough I went fast and 17:60km took me 1 hour 35mins with paces 5:15km to 5:34 been the slowest.
so was happy with that. got home had some great food and got call from pal wanted to go up and around Scarr Mountain for jog / hike so I was still feeling good and said yes so off we went and took Patch ( my dog ) and we had a great time.. was starting to feel bit stiff on the way home sore legs but was feeling great soon as I had home! power nap time and bottle of wine after spending just over 3hours hiking and jogging with Stephen..
But I didn't mind it all to much as I was looking forward to having my sports massage next day with Mary Brady she's known for what she does best. so I knew I was going to get looked after and my legs and back needed it haha!!
So took a cycle about 26:56km road cycle with super duper great massage from Mary and was flying home on the bike... feeling good!.. if anyone would like a deep sports massage you should go to see Mary Brady call her on 086 4070270 well worth a visit...
