its been all go trail running and hiking with Eva, Patch and Pals, Eva is now trail running and is doing great, everyday we do 3 little hikes with Patch ( our dog ) and we give him a super good life since we took him from the cats & dogs home, so with this he helps me with my training and gets me off FB for a while ha!
3 walks / hikes a day and with my own training on top of that, running, yoga, gardening and cycling.
and not to for get a few other things, its all go in my life but always staying happy now that I've found something I really love.... one and makes us feel great!
And I also take out groups of runners and guide them around the Wicklow Mountains from beginners to advanced runners, thats been going really good and M.S.R has been very busy!
And ill be setting up many more new things in M.S.R so keep an eye on my posts.
So last week my good Pal Chris had said he wanted to race the Stone Mad Marathon and asked me if id like to join him on this race with his very kind gift of the paid entry for myself "am in" I said lets do it!
The Stone Mad Mountain Marathon 42km with 705m climb to the summit of Mt Leinster I couldn't wait! but I've not done much longer training runs this year due is few injuries in my feet,
But fully healed now and ready for racing!
Hadn't really done many big races before as am more into my own group runs, run where you want, stop when you want and have fun! but had done good few of 50km's last year and wanted to take part with my MSR team pals on the stone mad, its just 42k and my mission was to take it easy and run all the hills and stope when needed. I did hold this for good long time and near the end I had to walk parts of the race as my IT band fired up and got sore, which at one point I almost said its over of me! but something went off in my head and said get the F**K up and RUN JUJU! so I did till the end, the pains were all gone away haha. and got under 5hours and well happy with that. 5th place out of 18 runners.
and had myself a great race and many nice chats to many people along the way,
nice time of 04:52:03
My team mates got super times and places too.
From then its all go. long day out and we still had to drive home which we didn't get home till mid night hit the bed as we got up at 5am, so very long day out, so got up next day feeling great and all ready for my recovery run and hit the trails for more fun! had good run and was feeling great with no pains or anything stiff just full of good juju. done some more yoga and few cold river dips and eat nice food and all ready for the group run on Tuesday evening...
Had got few emails from asking would I be taken out the group on Tuesday evening as they must have thought id be sore or something from the 42k on Sunday!
So I said am fine thanks for asking and see you Tuesday for some more great running as planned and even said last weekend "I'll see you all Tuesday"!!
So this takes me up to Wednesday done more yoga even Patch joined onto the mat this time ha
"Dog Yoga" his great at it now! must get some pics for you all..
We went into the garden as it was such a great day out, and then got ready for my road cycle to the Sugar Loaf Mountain to help out for the IMRA race. its a nice fast road cycle from Laragh the roads along there are very nice and many many people cycle it every week! so helped out then cycled back home and the day was over with a nice 50k cycle, more km's to my training!,
People send me emails asking what foods do I eat to do what I do everyday! I say I don't eat much foods but what I do eat it is very Powerful foods which I'll post pics up soon.
and am a veggie so no meat or fish and have been a Veggie over 20years...
Week not over and more running and hiking to be done...
Hope you all have fun out there doing what you all love doing most.
