This course will be split between indoors and outside.
Please bring along a no 56 OSI map and clothing suitable for slow walking/standing around in the outdoors.
I'll (JuJu) be selling Maps for this Event if anyone needs them. email for more prices etc to [email protected]
Who is delivering the course?
Paul Nolan a qualified Mountain Leader
Who's he?
Former hill runner, map maker and orienteer'.
In his second hill race Paul lost 15 places by following the runners in front of him, rather than the unmarked race route. He swore it wouldn't happen again. For the next two decades his main claim to fame was beating faster runners who went off course in the heat of battle. These days he is a qualified Mountain Leader, Emergency Medical Technician and member of the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team.
Outcome for you?
Seeing and understanding all the information that colourful piece of paper called a map really contains. Using it to make choices. Executing those choices and letting your running speed dictate your result rather than your unfulfilled navigation potential.

a bit of food/drink.
Pen and paper for the indoor part if you want to take notes.
