starting my week with a great mountain bike spin with Ivan my good friend, we took it easy at the start and soon as we warmed up it was all go. its nice to head out with others on the bikes but just now & then its more fun to hit the trails with someone as fast as me for speed fun!.. so our loop was tough going on the legs coming down some of the trails was great going but legs feeling the fire as we say!..
took home nice 16km a great night too!..
Done my "Relay leg" run to see what times I can do for my MSR team It was a per-run for a race am taking part in soon. its a 127km from Dublin along the Wicklow way and with a super fast / powerful team I think we can do great.. so the leg I ran I was happy with my time.. its a tough start all up a steep hill but as a BIG lover of up hills I had a super nice run.
it was 12km part road part trails and done it all in time of 56mins but I did stop few times for pics so hoping on race day do lots better.
12k in 56mins race day should be 45-50mins I HOPE!!!
But going to be a mad busy day.
As I got an email from IMRA Member would I be free to go along with her to help navigate over to the "Three Lakes" from the Wicklow Gap carpark which I said yes as I love helping out and in the mountains! it was a super nice day out well for a while then it started to rain and fog comes in with that but it was all good fun ! always the way but all was good as we can Navigate when needed..!!! so from there the girls drove off home and I ran down to Laragh along the "St Kevins Way" and was really nice after hiking over to all the lakes with open mountains with no trails / paths. soon as I got home I had to get cleaned up fast and get ready to go back out and and train with Rene Borg for my training which as always is great fun, but didn't get much time to relax after my hike /run with the girls but soon as I was back and all cleaned up I was back running down to Rene's!!
what a such long day lots of hiking and running just what I love!!
happy to be in back that night for some power sleeping..!!!!
Next day was a super day, out of bed walked Patch ( My Dog ) around the woods then back home to start my cross training with Yoga, flexibility & strength exercises all before any food, great way to start the day. after all my week of training and eating super great foods I needed a good run after all the training and helping but as the weekend was here already Glendalough had 2 BIG races on and I was taking photos on both of them both days...
Saturday was the WAR race which most of my friends were doing for their 1st time and wanted to see there off and take pics... so I ran up to the Spinc Mountain and stood around in the rain and wind and take pics as you can see on this link

I don't mind doing that job as that good feeling they give you after the race comes back..
but I was going off to do my own run after the job but I just got to cold from standing around in my running gear that day all wet and cold is not good for heading off for the day running. now when am out running in the rain etc I love it but I wouldn't be stopping for to long to get cold I'll be running non stop to stay warm,! but hey I still had nice little 12k trail run. and came home to have my power nap and eat more great food,
Sunday rolled in and week almost over, was doing C-P 1 as helping for the IMRA 28k race called
Circuit of Brockagh as you can see on this link

took more pics of this race and as always great to help out all the runners.. so in the 2 days with both races I think I took about 600 ish pics!! WOW, after the race few friends came back to mine for dinner and chats and really nice too. always nice to get gifts and people like Paddy Darigan made me home made bread which was VERY VERY nice as you can see in the pics and can't forget to say BIG thanks to Fiona Byrne for our great looking home made soaps which we love...
Week over and then it starts all again this week...
and what a super fast pace trail run to start of my week...
My good friend wanted a fast pace training run and asked me to take him on a nice hilly route but FAST! and I sure did !!!!!! was lots of pushing up Paddock Hill along the Wicklow Way and then loop around near Scarr Mountain and back down. great times. great running and good start to my day,
Tuesday rolled in with such a nice sunny warm day and its a day for hiking! packed up all my gear and myself and Patch made our ways to the hills. not knowing where do go but we made the route as we came to it and just went rambling and ended up doing a mad long tough hike that took just over 8hours and in that sun / heat made it tough going on our legs but hey if it was easy I don't think we would do it hahaha!!! details on my hike Laragh - Fire Road's of Brockagh - Mall Hill 518m - Aska Pond Lake - The Corrigeens - 644m point to view "Love Heart Lake" called "Lough Ouler" - Summit of Tonelagee 818m then coming down the steep side meeting along the Brockagh Summits 549m - 556m then Glendolough
