after my last update with the Thursday Evening Spinc 13k loop Run It was all go..
non stop with meetings in Dublin and training. from cycling to yoga and some sleep !
The weekend came in fast and the 2nd group run of the week had a nice turn out of 12 people new and old faces always good to see! so we all took off fast and strong along the Green road and up some fire roads to meet the summit of Derrybawn at 482m with some non stop good hills to run up! at this point your hate rate would be well warmed up hehehe !!! few others had turned back just before we hit them hills as we're running to fast and went of on their own run. ( I did say it was going to be a tough run ) so on with the run and we ran good to start of Mullacor when the bad weather turned on us all and got very MAD!!! Cold, Fog, Wind and rain!
( all the things I love about trail running & hiking ) but few of the group wanted to turn back as they not had the right gear on or was training the day before, so rest of us headed up to the Summit of Mullacor 665m and couldn't see anything on the way up but deep fog ( great fun ) most of the others ran ahead as didn't want to get cold while I waited for the others behind as didn't want them getting lost in the fog and few of us ran into the bog holes knee deep good fun but really takes the power out of your running!! one of the lads had to get his hands all dirty trying to find his shoe that the bog took on him hehehe
( am sure them bogs have many things in them ha ! ) so soon made it off Mullacor and met with the others then ran up to Lugduff where we all said we won't head up to the summit of Lug' and just turn off to head down to the Spincs and do the loop there so on we ran off to stay warm as it was very cold and last thing we wanted was to get stiff legs !! soon came the Spincs and we took left turn unto the sleepers and we all ran fast around to meet the Zig Zags and down to the Miners Roads and end...
Hope you all had a good run people and I hope to see you all again soon..
don't let the mountains weather put you off!!!!
So from living the group back at the end I was still feeling good and wanted to stay out running and went on for few more km's and ran up along the Wicklow Way to the River for a nice cold dip for my legs after a tough run but happy with it all.
Came home with 26:38km and some happy faces...
And Ive got a wee head cold at the mo so want to be fully headed for my race and always get a head cold after flying somewhere must be something in the planes I was in Hamburg last weekend,
So now its going to be some rest as am racing the IMRA Relay race with my MSR team my leg is only 11k but I still like to be fast and feeling good on the day..
